Consultant of the Quarter, Adrian Jones

Congratulations to our Consultant of the Quarter, Adrian Jones (AJ). AJ is an OSP Engineer in Brooklyn, New York. She has been with NextGen since September of 2018.

When choosing to nominate AJ for our Consultant of the Quarter, Rick, AJ’s recruiter, said, “AJ started in a customer service role in 1994.  She worked her way up through the years as an Engineering Assistant, Field Technician, Network Engineer, and she is currently an OSP Engineer. Throughout her telecom career, AJ has played a big role in the design and expansion projects she’s worked on. One of her biggest accomplishments came from working on a large recovery project after Hurricane Sandy in 2012.  Not only is AJ amazing at what she does, but she’s also been very helpful to NextGen by providing insights about her office environment, as well as, helping me better prepare candidates for interviews.”

At the end of 2019, AJ received an award from her manager recognizing her outstanding performance and incredible dedication. AJ was very happy with her award, as she had been supporting her client and these groups of individuals specifically for many years.

We spoke to AJ regarding her nomination and experience with NextGen. Here is what she had to say:

Q: Can you tell us about your experience as a NextGen consultant?

My time at NextGen has been great. Everyone is very supportive. It is always a wonderful feeling to be part of a team.

Q: Who is Adrian Jones (AJ)?

Most people call me AJ. I am socially and politically aware, and I participate in actions for change. I was active in the Campaign to Shut Down Rikers in NYC, which resulted in a plan to close Rikers Island jail. We didn’t want to just replace it with pretty jails. The campaign called for bail reform, better psychiatric care, and fewer arrests for minor crimes. The fight is not over, and the conversation is continuing.

Q: What are your future goals?

I plan to enroll in a few courses to enhance my skills and grow in my field. I want to receive my Project Management Professional certification, and I will work towards that in the near future.
Project Management is an often-underrated skill, but it is essential for any professional to get things done in a timely and efficient manner.

Q: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy spending my free time with my family. Going to dinner, the movies, shopping, and going to Nets and Mets games. Whatever we do together, it’s always fun!

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself!

People assume I can sing karaoke because I love it so much. It tickles me when they hear me sing the first song. I always disappoint.

Congratulations on your hard work paying off, AJ! We look forward to helping you progress in your future career goals.
