Nokia started as a paper mill, and its move toward telecom and tech is considered one of the greatest business pivots of all time, alongside Wrigley and Avon which began as door-to-door soap and booksellers respectively.
Some say Nokia could use another pivot to keep up with the action, and maybe they have with 5G, a service that would allow users to download a full-length movie in the blink of an eye. Here are some of the highlights of what Nokia is cooking up. It’s looking to be a gamechanger:
·Nokia Networks teamed up with National Instruments to create the fastest cellular technology.
·It sends the data over a frequency of 73,000 MHz, also known as 73GHz.
·Nokia Networks demonstrated in Boston that its system can deliver speeds of up to 10Gbps (This is 40 times faster than the current maximum speeds achievable on 4G)
·Such speeds could also pave the way for next-generation video and pictures including 8K which is twice as clear as 4K and 16 times as clear as HD.
