This past September, NextGen associates attended the Mobile World Congress Americas Conference in Los Angeles. They met with essential partners and learned how 5G is going to shape our (MWCA) future! Emily Eaves, Business Development Manager based in Nashville, was among the few who attended. Below is our Q & A of her experience at the show!
Q: Tell us about the Mobile World Congress Americas Conference.
Emily: This was the second year MWCA had a show in the Americas. Last year it was in San Francisco, and this year I was fortunate enough to attend in Los Angeles! I met people from all over the world and learned about their industries and advances. MWCA is the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry, incorporating a thought-leadership conference that features prominent executives representing mobile operators, device manufacturers, technology providers, vendors, and content owners.
Q: What did you learn at the conference?
Emily: A lot is going on in the wireless world! From seeing the carriers’ focus on anything from 5G to Virtual Reality, there are so many great things happening that will change the consumer experience as we know it. It is very inspiring!
Q: What was the coolest thing you experienced?
Emily: The coolest thing I saw was the Verizon Virtual Reality group. They showed me how, in the future, we would be able to hold our phone’s camera up to a building or street and it will give you the names, deals, and menus of that location. I think it’s also really cool that NextGen has placed contractors in the Virtual Reality group that is actively contributing to this advance in technology!
Q: How do networking events like this help our contractors?
Emily: As a niche consulting firm, attending these events confirm our investment in the industry, our commitment to our clients, and therefore can add valuable insight to our contractors!
