Know Where Candidates Are

If only there was a way to get your job opening in front of only the really qualified people. Going through the slush pile of applicants leaves even the cheeriest hiring manager wary and maybe even a little jaded. A good recruiter not only eases this burden, but also taps into a better talent pipeline. Making a business case for a recruiter is pretty easy; most will be willing to draw one up for you.

A Pool Pass

Talented people who are not actively seeking opportunities make up the passive pool of candidates. This is where you’re likely to find high quality candidates, and it’s a pool that a good recruiter should have broad access to. Think about how many people want to hear about different opportunities in their field and would be willing to move if they found the right one? A whole lot of folks, right?

On the Cusp

While not completely passive, many promising candidates have only discussed with friends and certain colleagues their desire to make a move. Some estimates have this pool at 15% of the workforce. It’s a very promising group because they are motivated though not promoted all that heavily. Recruiters give you the best shot at getting exposure to this pool of talent.

Making Contact

A good recruiter establishes these relationships and contacts passive pool contacts in the way they want to be reached. Whatever your strategy is your recruiter can get the right people in the chair in front of you.
